There is no instruction manual in the box. Instead, there is a link to download an app. The app is free but guidance for each design costs $.99. Already the cost is more than Amazon equivalents, and those come with a free manual.

The code included in your Hey Clay set really is supposed to give you free access to the instructions for all the characters featured in the set. If your code isn't working, please call us at 1-800-590-5987, or email us at cs@fatbraintoys.com. We'll set you up with a new code that works, so you can get right back into your clay-molding adventure!

Great concept and one box was fun for the kids but the second box had at least 4 clays that were solid like rubber. And 3-4 more that were barely manipulable. Not worth the cost if they are only half useable.

I bought this for my six year old grandson who thoroughly enjoyed creating the animals. The app instructions were excellent, clear, and simple to follow. He was able to follow instructions and work independently with some help from his grandmother. It was great fun watching the animals take shape.

My daughter loves clay. She first received a box of Hey Clay for a gift and enjoyed it so much, I bought her another for a gift. She loves the variety of colors that are included and the many types of creatures one can create with the assortment of clay. Bonus is that if you download the app, your child will have step by step videos on how to create the various creatures!

This was purchased for a9 yr old girl. She loves the feel of the clay. The app makes it easy to follow instructions and create a figurine. It is a great "brain break" for her. I would like to see more hey clay animals, plants, and figures!

I got one of these for each of my families of nieces/nephews. They were into it immediately: girls, boys, the 9-year, the 3-year-old - they all loved it! They really liked the app component, and even used the dino one for this animals set. This is flexible and a very, very sweet toy.

My daughter is 12 and wanted clay in a variety of colors for making realistic looking models. She loves the diversity of colors and how organized the kit is. She thinks the app is cool, but since she doesn't plan to make the animals, that part isn't really a high point for us. She said she prefers this to the Crayola packets of air-dry clay. So far the things she has made with Hey Clay kit has not dried out or cracked.
